Day 2


An early rise and down to the Strachan Steam Railway station to cath a coache to Queenstown

After a nice hot coffee in the lounge at the Queenstown station we boarded another coach to the first stop ...


Activity One - Gold panning at Lynchford Station where the twins i might add struck GOLD both of them and that set the tone for the day ..


Activity Two - A very pleasant glass of wine and amazing box lunch was awaiting us at Rinadeena and some exploration of some undeground mines and a walk through the rainforest .


Activity Three - Meandering through the hills we came to Dubil Barril a brisk walk found looking at some most amazing fungai and an enormous wooden Bridge ... Mum was taking too many photos and held up the train ..


Once back on the train we took a lovely scenic tour over rivers and gorges through valleys and admired the changes in the natural vegetation ..


Activity Four - Lower Landing was out next stop and an assortment of Tasmanian Honey out for out tasting pleasure this station was nestled in amongs Huon Pines .

The rack and pinion rail system was a most ingenious invention which allowed the trains to climb the very steep ascents fully loaded ..

Now back at Strachan and the sun was setting so we retired to out lovely hotel to await the adventure of tomorrow ..

The 3 Generation Traveling Troupe Trip To Tasmania








Day One - Arriving Devonport at 6 am after a pleasant night crossing on the Ferry.
Stop One -Railtown and a village of the most incredible topiaries dotted in all the public parks and front yards..Way to cold for the others to venture out of the car just stupid me and the Camera..
Stop Two - Sheffield and a town of Murals on every building ...Coaxed Granny and the twins out for a brisk walk around the town and about 100 snaps. Anna slept on zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Then into a local bakery with a cosie sofa beside a raoring fire and hot coffee..
Stop Three - The Village Of Lower Crackpot - by far the highlight of the trip for the twins. The biggest maze complex in the Southern Hemisphere. Lavender Maze, Balance Maze , Crackpot Village Maze and the AWESOME hedge maze... Love the Witch crashed into the power pole ..

Stop Four - Cradle Mountain and Lunch Stop fabulous scenery and crystal clear air just beautiful..
Stop Five - Strachan on the West Coasy of Tasmania and where we lay our heads after a couple of wines and a delicious feast - The View from out hotel dining room
